I am Ross Metcalfe and I tutor English, Science and Maths from grade 4 to grade 11.
Where?
I operate from my classroom in Thornton and my students come to me for tuition as I have all the books and equipment here.
How much does it cost?
As the needs of each child are different, a quotation without an assessment is not very meaningful. However, I ask parents to budget R600 for four weeks of tuition.
How Long and How Often?
I recommend a one 90-minute lesson per week and 1 hour of homework. If the learner has difficulties with his/her work in the week then I should be contacted immediately and an “In between” lesson arranged. This is at no extra charge. I explain how this works at the assessment.
How do I join?
I see each student for an assessment prior to enrolment and this takes an hour and is free of charge. There is no obligation to take the course by attending the assessment. The assessment is necessary as I use this time to explain my conditions of service and to work with the candidate student.
At this meeting, I discuss the payment of fees. I also ask parents to observe how I work with their child and to examine my qualifications and child protection policy.
I appreciate that choosing a tutor for your child is an extremely important step and so I request you to make an appointment to have an assessment as soon as possible.
I hope to hear from you soon.
